Classified Substitutes - 2005-2006
(Educational Assistants - Special Needs)
Elk Island Public Schools requires Classified Substitutes to work
as Educational Assistants (Special Needs) on a casual "call-in"
basis.
Duties may include:
- work with students individually or in small groups
- work with special needs students
- lifts, transfers, and personal care of students may be required
Candidates should have:
- Grade 12 education
- training or experience working with special needs students
- behaviour management training is an asset
- Emergency First Aid and CPR is an asset
- excellent interpersonal skills
- the ability to work with students under the direct supervision
of the classroom teacher
- the ability to provide personal care for students
Classified substitutes are paid $13.53 per hour.
