Next Step is an alternative school for junior high and senior high students who are unable to attend a ‘traditional’ high school or who require an alternative environment for completing their schooling.

This school program allows students maximum flexibility in completing their high school courses. Students use Alberta Distance Learning Centre and school-developed materials to individualize their timetables and programs.

The Next Step Outreach School is designed to help students to meet their educational needs. We try to be as flexible as possible with attendance and work completion, though we do set some guidelines. In order for the program to work for students, they must demonstrate commitment to their goals and school program.

We encourage students to attend the school as much as they possibly can. The school staff is available to help students with their schoolwork and to discuss any other concerns that they may have. We can also provide assistance in accessing other community agencies should the need arise.
